This program will provide academic and scientific information pertaining to the use of Fluorescence in situ Hybridization (FISH) for detection of genomic alterations in oncology. Clinical issues related to personalized targeted therapy selection and technical issues addressing advantages and limitations of the test will be discussed.

Target Audience

This educational program is intended for medical, surgical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, oncology nurses, laboratory and other clinical healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Identify why EGFR signaling is critical in lung cancer
  2. Differentiate prognostic and predictive markers
  3. List 2 biomarkers for EGFR Inhibitors in NSCLC
  4. Explain the result interpretation of the EGFR FISH test
  5. Describe advantages and limitations of the EGFR FISH test
