This activity is designed to provide for physician, clinical laboratory, and related healthcare professional education on the strengths and limitations of different methods of HER2 testing.

Target Audience

Oncologists, pathologists, oncology nurses, laboratory and other clinical healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be able to:

  1. Describe FISH and IHC methods for HER2 testing.
  2. Identify the risk of false results in HER2 testing.
  3. Discuss studies and guidelines comparing FISH and IHC for HER2 testing.
